Himmelsdorf is defiantly one of my favorites, and it's not just because it was the first map I ever played! It features numerous routes of attack, some for fast tanks, some for the slower, lumbering brawlers. During this post, please refer back to the map, located as an attachment, to figure out what the heck I'm talking about!
Yellow line-a large hill dominates the landscape. If spawning from the north, there's only one way to go. However, if coming from the south, there are 2 ways. One takes you around in a circlish thing, and crossing under a couple of destroyed columns from something. The other way is to go straight to the west. This route takes you up through a row of houses. Therefore, if taking the hill from the north, you must investigate both areas, as you can loose the hill if they come in force up the other side. This route should only be taken by fast tanks, or if slower, they should have an upgraded engine.
Red Line-right under the hill is a road that runs in a row of houses. The only cover is a few outcropped buildings, and, after encountering the first enemy tanks, your dead comrades. Despite the cover issues, this is one of the most important lines of attack, as usually the side that looses this side looses the game.
Blue Line-in the middle of the map is a large parkish thing. This usually turns into a stalemate, as the rare tank that decides to push through here usually has 3 guns instantly pointed at it, along with artillery, if there is any.
Purple Line-along the west is the rail emplacement. There are several rail cars as cover, along with several buildings and other things for cover. This side isn't as important, and usually turns into a stalemate as well in my experiences.
As you can see, there is a lot of strategy involved here, from defending in the couple of minutes after the game has started to deciding when to push to the enemy base.
