Ensk can be a map that caters to all moods, whether you like sniping, defending, rushing, close quarters, and brawling, it can do it all. However, you must remember your own limitations when fighting on each side of it.
Olive Green Line-this line is the line most often taken by heavies on both sides, and therefore needs to be defended by either heavies, strong mediums, or strong TDs. It's not the fastest route to take, and it can involve close quarters, as several times tanks will be drawn into the buildings with courtyards (marked with bright green).
Red Line-this line is more defensive than anything, as both flanks are somewhat secured from direct fire and it would take a little bit to turn from one of the side streets into the line. The yellow blocks on the line represent where TDs can usually be found in my experiences.
Orange Line-this line runs right through the railroad line, meaning that any tanks attempting to get on/off of this line will encounter speed slowdowns. This usually means that the defenders of this line will have a clear shot for a little bit while the tank is slow and cumbersome. This means that this line should usually not be used for offense unless it is absolutely necessary.
Pink Line-this line runs through the railroad buildings, making it cut off except from blue line. I have found that this line is also taken by heavier tanks that are slower, but it is also a favorite of fast tanks who can draw fire away from their comrades.
Blue Line-this line I find is usually used by fast mediums, but it is also used by snipers. Most heavies will not go here because of the distance and time involved of getting to the destination.
HOT TIP: the grey areas are favorites of artillery, as they have a clear shot at blue, pink, orange, usually red, and sometimes even olive green, depending on the range of course. If you are a fast medium who wants to destroy the enemy arty right away, head to these areas first.
As you can see, there is a lot of strategy involved here, from flat fields of open fire to close quarters. Ensk really caters to all play styles.
